SH!TTY PORTRAITS

Fun Drawing Warm-Ups, Classroom Icebreakers & Creative Activities for Teachers

Wake up your classroom with a little creative chaos.

Sh!tty Portraits is a playful classroom activity zine packed with 9 quick portrait challenges designed to get students laughing, talking, loosening up, and connecting with each other.

Here’s how it works: students pair up and draw each other using one Sh!tty Portrait challenge. The next day, they switch partners and do it again with someone new. Keep reusing that challenge until everyone in the room has drawn everyone else, then move on to the next challenge.

By the end, every student has created a hilarious collection of wonderfully weird portraits of their classmates and has their own collection of portraits drawn by the group.

The drawing is really just the excuse to connect.

These intentionally bad portrait activities turn awkward silences and sleepy classrooms into bad art, big laughs, and real conversations.

Sh!tty Portraits works in grade school, middle school, high school, and college classrooms, and it definitely isn’t just for art class.

Use it for:

• Classroom warm-ups

• College classroom icebreakers

• Drawing games

• Creative icebreakers

• Student engagement activities

• Team-building activities

• Brain breaks

• Beginning-of-class activities

• Getting-to-know-you activities

• Creative thinking exercises

Use Sh!tty Portraits in art, design, entrepreneurship, business, communications, theater, education, orientation programs, workshops, camps, retreats, meetings, or anywhere you want people to get comfortable with each other and have a little fun.

Each activity is quick, playful, and low-pressure. Students might draw with their non-dominant hand, try strange portrait challenges, or make drawings that are supposed to look ridiculous.

No art skills required.

In fact, the worse the portraits, the better.

Perfect for teachers and professors looking for classroom warm-ups, college icebreakers, student engagement activities, creative classroom activities, drawing games, team-building exercises, and fun ways to build classroom community.
