30  days of holiday card-making
1  new holiday object each day
∞  ways to make it yours
A SIMPLE DAILY HOLIDAY TRADITION

Draw a little holiday joy.
Repeat. Make it yours.

Each day brings a new holiday object to draw. Fill one card with several variations—each one a little different—and make a collection of handmade holiday cards to send in December.
01 /

Meet your holiday prompt

Start with Christmas sweaters, then candy canes and gingerbread houses. The month brings more festive inspiration, including snowmen, ornaments, reindeer, and holiday cookies.
02 /

Fill a card with festive variations

Draw several versions of the same holiday object on one card. Change a pattern, try a new detail, follow a happy accident. A whole gathering of little drawings makes each card your own.
03 /

Create in good company

Make holiday cards alongside a community following the same daily prompts. Share the spirit of the season through different hands, different ideas, and a joyful month of making.
Less Perfect.
More Present.

A small pause.
A little more possibility.

There’s something soothing about drawing the same thing again. You settle into a rhythm. You notice a new detail. You give yourself permission to play.
This is an invitation to explore, not to make every drawing match. The differences are where the joy lives.
MAKE IN NOVEMBER. MAIL IN DECEMBER.

Handmade holiday cards.
Ready to spread some merry.

Spend November creating a collection of one-of-a-kind holiday cards you can mail in December.
Quirky sweaters. Wonky gingerbread houses. Candy canes with personality. Add a note and send someone a little holiday joy, made by you.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Curious? You’re welcome here.

What will we draw on our holiday cards?
Each day features a holiday object. The first prompts are Christmas sweaters, candy canes, and gingerbread houses, with more festive objects throughout the month. Draw several variations of that day’s object on one card to create your own handmade holiday cards.
When does the challenge begin?
The 30-day virtual holiday card-making challenge begins November 1, 2026. Make your cards in November and mail them in December.
Where do I sign up?
Use any “Join the holiday card challenge” button to go to our Heartbeat community. Heartbeat’s signup page looks different from this landing page, so don’t worry—you’re in the right place.
Do the drawings need to look alike?
No! Each drawing should be a little different. Give your holiday objects their own shapes, patterns, and personalities. This is about meditative repetition and creative play, not perfect cards.
